MEN'S HEALTH NUTRITIONIST LONDON

Men's Health

Taking control of your health is about more than just ticking off the basics – it's about truly understanding how your body works, what it needs, and how to keep it performing at its best. At our practice, we work with men of all ages who want to feel stronger, sharper, and more resilient, whether you’re managing a specific health concern or simply looking to optimise your long-term wellbeing.

Men are statistically less likely to reach out for help regarding their health issues. Choosing to take action sets you apart, empowering you to take control of your health and build a stronger, more resilient future.

Whether you’re dealing with digestive issues like IBS, bloating, and reflux that drain energy and disrupt focus, or seeking support for cardiovascular and metabolic health to manage blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, and blood sugar, I’m here to help. As a registered nutritional therapist, you can trust my science-based advice. Together, we’ll create a plan to strengthen your heart and optimise metabolic health through targeted nutrition, lifestyle adjustments, and effective stress management.

Common Issues

Men come to us for a range of reasons, and some of the most common issues we address include:

  • Digestive Concerns: It’s more common than you’d think – challenges like IBS, bloating, and reflux aren’t just uncomfortable; they can impact your energy levels, concentration, and overall quality of life. We dive into what’s really going on in your gut, offering a tailored approach that aligns with your unique body and goals.

  • Heart Health: Cardiovascular health is essential, but many men overlook it until they experience symptoms. Whether you’re dealing with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or other heart health concerns, we can create a manageable plan designed to support your heart health through nutrition, lifestyle changes, and stress management.

  • Metabolic Health: Issues like high blood pressure, weight management, and blood sugar balance are crucial for long-term wellness. We understand how these factors interplay and work with you to build sustainable habits that support your metabolic health.

  • Energy and Focus: Many men experience a gradual decline in energy and mental clarity as they get older. If brain fog, poor concentration, or constant fatigue are impacting your productivity, we can help you explore the root causes and design a plan to help you feel more energised and focused.

Andropause

What it means and how we can support you.

Andropause, often called "male menopause," refers to the gradual decline in testosterone levels and other androgens in men, typically starting from around age 30, but symptoms often become noticeable between ages 40 and 60. Unlike the abrupt hormonal shifts seen in female menopause, andropause is a more gradual process and can vary widely among individuals.

As men age, hormonal changes are a natural part of life, often bringing subtle – or not-so-subtle – shifts in energy, mood, and overall vitality.  Andropause affects everyone differently, but here are some common changes to watch for:

  • Low Energy and Fatigue: Many men find their stamina decreasing, making it harder to keep up with daily demands without feeling drained.

  • Mood Changes: Irritability, low mood, and sometimes even symptoms resembling depression can be linked to declining hormone levels.

  • Reduced Libido and Sexual Function: Testosterone influences sexual desire and performance, so it’s not uncommon to notice a decrease in interest or changes in erectile function.

  • Physical Changes: Andropause can lead to a reduction in muscle mass, a rise in body fat (particularly around the abdomen), and changes in body composition.

  • Mental Clarity: Subtle but significant, a dip in focus and cognitive function can creep in, affecting memory, concentration, and overall mental sharpness.

Our approach to andropause is holistic: rather than focusing solely on symptoms, we look at your lifestyle, diet, stress levels, and sleep to see where improvements can make a real difference. In some cases, a tailored nutrition plan, combined with lifestyle adjustments, can support hormone balance naturally. We offer both online and in-person consultations in London, providing flexible options to fit your busy schedule. When you work with us, you can expect a personalised experience – together, we’ll create a plan that aligns with your unique needs, goals, and lifestyle.

Taking Control

Functional testing gives you a unique window into your health, going beyond standard tests to uncover hidden imbalances that may be affecting your energy, mood, metabolism, and overall wellbeing. Many men experience common yet complex health issues, such as digestive discomfort, fluctuating energy levels, and challenges in managing heart and metabolic health. Functional testing provides the data to reveal what’s really happening beneath the surface, giving you valuable insights to address these areas effectively.

By analysing key biomarkers related to hormones, inflammation, gut health, and metabolic function, we can identify specific areas needing support, offering you a direct path to personalised, effective care.

Functional testing is also straightforward and easy to access. With convenient at-home test kits for things like urine, stool, or saliva, delivered right to your door, you can gather detailed health data without leaving home. And if advanced blood testing is needed, we’ll connect you with a local phlebotomist, making it hassle-free. As a registered nutritional therapist, I’m here to help you use these insights to create a personalised health plan that works for you. From our initial consultation, I could sense Rakhi had a holistic approach to health and was eager to explore interventions beyond what my health service providers offered. She suggested functional tests, which were not covered by the NHS and came with a cost, but my desperation to find a solution pushed me to give it a try.

Through a series of nutrigenomic tests and blood analyses, Rakhi skillfully identified the underlying causes of my depression. She then designed a personalised plan, incorporating dietary changes, specialised supplements, and targeted lifestyle interventions to improve my sleep quality.

The results have been nothing short of astonishing. By following Rakhi's advice and recommendations, my depression is gradually diminishing. So much so that with my GP's guidance, I have completely stopped taking one of my anti-depressant medications and am well on my way to being entirely off all anti-depressants within the next few months. I no longer have gut issues and I have also experienced improved sleep quality resulting in a significant boost in my energy levels, and an overall enjoyment of my life.
